Handicap Pentathlon

One Mile 

The following additional rules to the general rules apply to the One Mile events:  

 a. The One Mile event will take place commencing 7.30pm at the St Ives Outdoor Centre.   

 b. Competitors do not have to pay the BRJ Track Fees to attend and take part in the One Mile events.  

 c. Competitors may only overtake slower runners on the outside. 

 d. Competitors may either wear Track Spikes or another suitable running shoe.  

 e. Where a large number of participants may make marshalling or finish activities difficult, the Competition Committee reserve the right to stagger the starts of groups of competitors. 

The Competition is open to all BRJ Senior Members and consists of 5 events with the individual’s best 3 scores to count towards the Competition.  There are both male and female Competitions using the same events on the same evenings.  Competitors can take part in as many of the 5 events as they wish, but to have the best chance of a good placing, they need to take part in the minimum of 3 events with all 3 events counting towards their score.  Each discipline has been scheduled to take place on 2 evenings (3 for Indoor Rowing) to try and ensure maximum participation.  However, competitors can only take part in each discipline once.  Each competitor will be permitted to play one ‘Joker’ where his/her score for their nominated ‘Joker’ event will be increased by 10%.
