Juniors run the London Marathon
This is a club social running event, to celebrate the summer solstice and fundraise for the club charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind. The event starts at sunrise 4:30am and ends at sunset 9:00pm on Saturday, 21st June, the longest day.
The Junior event runs from 12:00pm - 4:00pm and Juniors can run/walk with their parents for their scheduled one hour slot of the relay. Please book your time slot on ClubPal.
Juniors are invited to take on running a marathon, 26.2 miles /42 kilometres, around a circular path in the park. Each stage will be one kilometre.
Juniors can do as many relay stages as they feel able to do. They can run with parents or with friends. To inspire runners each significant stage will have photos of the equivalent stage of the London Marathon (e.g. Greenwich Park, Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge).
This will be a great family day out. Please bring a picnic. Join in the running fun and games planned for the afternoon. Running Bingo anyone?
Meet Willow the Guide Dog and find out more about Guide Dogs from those who rely on them.
Entry is £1 payable on the day with all proceeds going to Guide Dogs.
The event aims to promote and raise funds for the club charity. Guide Dogs for the Blind will have a stall for us with information and merchandise.
