Hill Run
The following additional rules to the general rules apply to the Hill Run events:
a. The Hill Runs will take place at Hinchingbrooke Park and will use the area of Bob’s Wood and the open area to the South. The Start will be approximately 100m below ‘Henry’s Corner’ on the asphalt path. The route will be up past Henry’s Corner to the top ride in Bob’s Wood (approx. 330m uphill), then turn right along the main ride and right again down the middle ride. The route crosses the path used during a parkrun (a marshal may be positioned here), entering the open area to the West of the playground and then continues diagonally towards to Finish near the Start.
b. Competitors are to become acquainted with the Route prior to the event, however, some route signage will be in place and where appropriate, marshals will be provided to ensure safety of participants, spectators and the general public.
c. The starts for the hill runs will commence with a stop watch set at 0.00 and will finish 60 minutes later when the stopwatch shows 60.00. Starts of individuals will be at 10 second intervals.
d. The event will finish when the last competitor completes his/her run after the conclusion of the 60.00 Start closure.
The Competition is open to all BRJ Senior Members and consists of 5 events with the individual’s best 3 scores to count towards the Competition. There are both male and female Competitions using the same events on the same evenings. Competitors can take part in as many of the 5 events as they wish, but to have the best chance of a good placing, they need to take part in the minimum of 3 events with all 3 events counting towards their score. Each discipline has been scheduled to take place on 2 evenings (3 for Indoor Rowing) to try and ensure maximum participation. However, competitors can only take part in each discipline once. Each competitor will be permitted to play one ‘Joker’ where his/her score for their nominated ‘Joker’ event will be increased by 10%.
