Handicap Pentathlon
5 km Run
The following additional rules to the general rules apply to the 5 km Run events:
a. The 5km Run will take place on the Hinchingbrooke Park parkrun two lap course, but is NOT a parkrun.
b. Competitors are to become acquainted with the 5 km Route prior to the event, however, some route signage will be in place and where appropriate, marshals will be provided to ensure safety of participants, spectators and the general public.
The Competition is open to all BRJ Senior Members and consists of 5 events with the individual’s best 3 scores to count towards the Competition. There are both male and female Competitions using the same events on the same evenings. Competitors can take part in as many of the 5 events as they wish, but to have the best chance of a good placing, they need to take part in the minimum of 3 events with all 3 events counting towards their score. Each discipline has been scheduled to take place on 2 evenings to try and ensure maximum participation. However, competitors can only take part in each discipline once. Each competitor will be permitted to play one ‘Joker’ where his/her score for their nominated ‘Joker’ event will be increased by 10%.
